Stanford Hospital

Over three years, CAI advised Stanford Health Care on the selection of artwork for the new Stanford Hospital. The $2 billion medical complex located adjacent to the university’s Palo Alto campus was designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects. The collection consists of large-scale architecturally integrated works, video installations, painting, works on paper and photographs. Among the commissioned artists are Zadok Ben-David, James Carpenter, Ned Kahn, Sol LeWitt, Jinnie Seo, Jennifer Steinkamp, and Leo Villareal. The portable collection of over 300 artworks installed throughout the 7-story building include David Hockney, Robert Rauschenberg, Paul Wackers, Roy Lichtenstein, Jennifer Bartlett, and César Mendoza. The hospital opened to the public in November 2019.
